This evening husband and I celebrated our 7th anniversary by going to Rodizio Grill and catching a movie. Grandparent’s B were kind enough to babysit the two girls so that we could spend this evening like two young love birds. I am amazed that we are still together after having gone through so much. The hardest thing for us was (and still is but has gotten so much better) managing our finances. We’ve gone through so many ups and down and through it all, I’ll have to admit, husband never gave up. He loved me and the girls through it all. He works so hard at everything: school, work, being a parent, and a husband. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to be married to such a wonderful husband who will do whatever it takes to keeps us safe, healthy, and happy. Although the road ahead will still have bumps, I could not ask for anything more than the life I have now.
Here we are 7 years ago at the Renaissance Festival in Larkspur, CO.

This evening at Rodizio Grill, I didn’t eat as much as I had thought I would. There was food, mostly meat coming every 3 to 5 minutes and I just couldn’t eat fast enough. I was also getting way stuffed so I wasn’t able to finish everything on my plate even though they came in small portions. We also had red wine with our meal which probably added to my not-eating-much appetite. Husband really enjoyed everything. I think this is one of his favorite restaurant.
Description of photos: As we walked through the door, this neon sign stood before us in welcome to an enjoyable evening! :: View from the waiting room :: Appetizer – Grilled bananas. I’ve never had anything like this before but it was good :: Husband’s salad :: My salad :: Guarana drink :: Turkey wrapped in bacon :: Grilled pineapple – this was so good! :: Grilled steak :: Grilled tomato with cheese :: Steak and garlic – the garlic made this meat spicy :: Lamb – not my thing. I couldn’t stand the smell. It was good but just not my flavor :: Grilled Talipa with red bell pepper – loved it! Although, I think they put just a bit too much salt :: Ham :: The two of us.

After dinner, we headed to the Pavilions to catch the new Batman flick, “The Dark Knight”. I think I might be the only person to say this but it was not what I had expected in a comic book movie. The actors were fabulous in their parts but this flick was too violent as a PG-13. There were too many people killed and reminded me of terrorists and mafia movies. I’m not a fan of either of the two. I’ve enjoyed previous Batman movies (all of them I might add) but this one was a complete letdown. I felt like the movie would have still been pretty good without Batman. It would have been a sweet terrorist/mafia movie (and I definitely would have avoided it). I left the theater after the judge got blown up in her car. This was simply not like a Batman movie. I expected one of the Joker’s crew to mess up with the timing of the bomb or something and the Joker getting pissed and captures the judge and hides her. Also, I expected a grand entrance into the ball thrown by Bruce Wayne. I see him as a loud guy making a memorable statement. It was simply too serious to be considered a comic book style movie.
BTW, I might add that all the trailers before this movie were all about violence. There was a little kid about 5 years old in the theater! Yeah, another reason why I left. I couldn’t stand the thought of these ideas and images inside a little kid’s mind. This movie should have been rated R.
